May 2017 - Outdoor Learning

4th May 2017

A super morning of outdoor learning in year 4. We were using many Maths skills we have learned this year including measuring accurately, calculating perimeter, working with time, coordinates and shapes. The children loved using a hands on approach to expand their knowledge of polygons and properties of shapes. We used our fantastic brand new trim trail to time each other and compare our results. (Thanks again to the friends of Wicklea) The children made wacky races to further develop their knowledge of comparing time. Ever heard of a Plum-bob? Ask your children how you can make one at home and even use them to find vertical lines!
