Teaching Assistance

Mrs Clements

Teaching Assistant

I have been a Teaching Assistant at both Wicklea and the old St Anne’s junior schools for many years. All my children attended St Anne’s and this was how I became involved in the school community. I have worked over all year groups as both a one-to-one and a general assistant. I am passionate about Bristol and St Annes in particular and believe that the school is a central & essential part of our community. I am also a staff governor. Outside of work my interests include reading, swimming, Pilates, gardening (when the weathers fine) and all family matters.

Miss Short

Teaching Assistant

I originally come from Cornwall but I moved to Bristol after receiving an honours degree in Primary Education from the University of St Mark and St John. During my time at University I learnt a lot about how children learn and develop and I was keen to put what I had learnt into practice. I was previously a teaching assistant in a Primary school in Bristol where I worked with a year 4 class; there I was given the opportunity to expand my training by using reading schemes (BRP) and speech therapy activities. I very much look forward to seeing what my time at Wicklea Academy can teach me!
