Wicklea House System

When pupils start at Wicklea Academy they are allocated one of four houses which they proudly display on their school sweatshirts.

The houses are:

Brunel: Isambard Kingdom Brunel was a famous Victorian inventor who was born in Plymouth. He designed the Clifton Suspension bridge and the SS Great Britain.

Cabot: John Cabot was an Italian explorer who set sail from Bristol to North America.

Fry: Named after Elizabeth Fry the prison reformer.

More: Named after the poet and educator who founded the first school in Brislington.

House Captains

Each September we hold House Captain elections. All children from across the school attend a house assembly where the candidates make an election speech. Every child votes for their candidate, with the successful child representing their house as captain for the year. Our House Captains will be representing their houses and attending the School Council meetings throughout the year. Well done to them all.
